If you are using an Asus laptop or a desktop computer with an Asus motherboard, you might have noticed the Asus Armoury Crate software. Even if you don’t install the software, it will be automatically downloaded and installed for you. If you don’t know, Asus Armoury Crate is a software utility that gives a ton of information about your system hardware and lets you manage Aura Sync, fan speed, driver updates, and more.
Though the software is useful, it is too much of a memory and CPU hog. That means it causes your system to slow down. Moreover, the user interface is pretty confusing and bloated to use it reliably.
So, if you are not actively using the software, it is better to disable Asus Armoury Crate startup or uninstall Asus Armoury Crate so that it doesn’t slow down your computer and is free of bloatware.
Uninstall Asus Armoury Crate on Windows
To uninstall Asus Armoury Crate from your computer, there are two major steps.
- Disable Asus Armoury Crate in UEFI BIOS
- Uninstall Asus Armoury Crate on Windows
Disable Asus Armoury Crate in UEFI BIOS
First, you must disable Asus Armoury Crate in UEFI or BIOS. If you don’t disable Asus Armoury Crate in UEFI BIOS, it will be automatically reinstalled without your permission. To do that, you must open WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment), launch UEFI BIOS, and disable the option. Here are the steps.
Step 1: Open the Settings app with Windows key + I.
Step 2: Go to the “Windows Update > Advanced Options” page.
Step 3: Click on the “Recovery” option under the “Additional Options” section.
Step 4: Click the “Restart Now” button next to “Advanced Startup.” Let the system restart.
Step 5: On reboot, go to the “Troubleshoot > Advanced Options” page.
Step 6: Click on the “UEFI Firmware Settings” option.
Step 7: Press/tap on the “Restart” button to confirm your action.
Step 8: In UEFI BIOS, click the “Advanced Settings” option at the bottom or press “F7.” This will open the advanced UEFI settings page.
Step 9: Go to the “Tools” tab and click on the “Asus Armoury Crate” option.
Step 10: Select “Disabled” from the “Download & Install ARMOURY CRATE app” dropdown menu.
Step 11: Go to the “Exit” tab and click/tap the “Save changes & reset” option.
Step 12: Click the “Ok” button to confirm the changes. Your system will automatically reboot into Windows.
Steps to uninstall Asus Armoury Crate on Windows
Once you disable Armoury Crate in UEFI BIOS, follow these steps to completely uninstall Asus Armoury Crate.
Step 1: Right-click on the Start icon on the taskbar.
Step 2: Select the “Installed apps” option from the Start’s context menu (power user menu).
Step 3: Click the three dots icon next to “Armoury Crate.” Select the “Uninstall” option.
Step 4: Click the “Uninstall” option button when prompted.
Step 5: Next, click the three dots icon next to “Armoury Crate Lite Service.” Select the “Uninstall” option.
Step 6: Press the “Uninstall” button when prompted.
Step 7: Close the Settings app and reboot the computer.
Use Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool
If you cannot uninstall Armoury Crate using Windows 10/11 settings app, use the Armoury Crate tool. It will automatically install Armoury Crate and all its related services and utilities.
First, use the link below to open the Asus support page. Here, click the “Show all” link to expand the download list. Next, click the “Download” button next to “Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool.”

After downloading, extract the zip file to a folder and double-click on the “Armoury Crate Uninstall Tool.exe” file.
Click the Uninstall button and it will uninstall Armoury Crate software from your computer.
Once done, click the “Restart” button to reboot your computer. After rebooting, your system is free from the Asus Armoury Crate software.
