Steps to Remove “Learn more about this picture” Icon on Desktop
To get rid of the “Learn more about this picture” icon, you must modify the registry. It’s pretty easy to do. Just back up the registry before modifying it and do the following.
1. Press Windows key + R to open the Run dialog box.
2. Enter regedit in the Run dialog window and click OK.
3. In the registry window, navigate to the following folder.
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\HideDesktopIcons\NewStartPanel
4. Here, right-click on the NewStartPanel folder and choose New > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
5. The above action will create a new DWORD value, name it {2cc5ca98-6485-489a-920e-b3e88a6ccce3}.
6. Right-click on the new value you just created and select Modify.
7. In the Value Data field, replace 0 with 1 and click OK.
8. Close the Registry Editor.
Finally, restart the explorer process or reboot your computer to see the changes. To restart explorer, open Task Manager, go to the Processes tab, select the Windows Explorer process, and click Restart Task.
Once you do that, the “Learn more about this picture” icon is removed from your desktop. If you want it back, change the value data of {2cc5ca98-6485-489a-920e-b3e88a6ccce3} value to “0” or just delete it.
