To stop others from snooping or to create a clean slate, you can delete browsing history in the Edge browser. Here is how to do it in simple steps.
Every time you search for something or visit a website, it is automatically recorded to your browsing history. This is the default behavior for almost all web browsers and Edge is nothing different. In fact, if the Edge browser history sync is enabled, the history is also synced with the Edge browser in your other devices. As you can guess, the browsing history allows you to go back in time to visit websites you have already visited. Not only that but Edge also uses it to autofill the address bar as you type a URL or search for something.
Though the browsing history is useful in a lot of ways, there might be times when you need to delete it. For example, maybe you don’t want others to see your browsing history or you might want to remove all the old stuff and make it a clean slate. In those cases, you can simply delete the browsing history. Thankfully, it is pretty easy to delete the browsing history in the Edge browser.
In this quick and simple Windows 10 guide, let me show you the steps to delete the Edge browsing history in Windows 10.
Note: The steps shown below are only applicable to the Edge Chromium browser. If you are still using the old Edge browser, I recommend you install the new one. This is because the old Edge browser is outdated and no longer supported.
Delete Edge Browsing History

- Open the Edge browser.
- Type “edge:\\settings” in the address bar and press Enter.

- Click on the “Choose what to clear” button.
- Select “All time” from the Time Range dropdown menu.
- Select the “Browsing history” checkbox.

First things first, open the Edge browser. In a Windows 10 machine, either click on the Edge icon on the taskbar or search for it in the Start menu. After opening the Edge browser, click on the menu icon and select the Settings option. You can also type “edge:\\settings” in the address bar and press Enter to open the Edge settings page.
In the Settings page, click on the “Privacy, search & services” tab on the sidebar. This is where all the privacy and services-related settings are located. Since the browsing history is termed as a privacy feature, you can locate it on this page.
Now, click on the “Choose what to clear” button under the Clear Browsing Data section.
Choose “All Time” from the time range drop-down menu. This makes sure that all the browsing data is deleted. If you want some other time range, feel free to select it. After that, uncheck all the other checkboxes. That way, you can be sure that you are only deleting the browsing history and nothing else. Finally, click on the “Clear” button.
As soon as you click the button, Edge will delete the browsing history according to the time range you selected.
