If you don’t like the new Tab Hover Cards in Google Chrome, follow the below steps to disable it.

In the new version of Google Chrome (version 78), Google introduced a new feature called Tab Hover Cards. As of now, all this feature does is show the tab name and the URL of the tab in a Card interface when you hover over the tab.

This new feature might be helpful for some but at least for me, Tab Hover Cards is nothing but a hindrance. Mainly because whenever you hover over the tab, it instantly shows the card and blocks the current page view. Not to mention, it is a distraction when you are moving your mouse around.

So, if you are like me who don’t like or use the new Tab Hover Cards feature, here’s how you can disable it in simple steps.

Steps to Disable Tab Hover Cards in Google Chrome

To disable tab hover cards, we need to change the Chrome Flag setting. Just follow the steps as it and you will be good.

1. First, open the Google Chrome browser if is not already opened.

2. In the Google Chrome browser, type “chrome://flags/#tab-hover-cards” in the address bar and press Enter.

3. The above action will take you to the tab hover cards flag. Here, select “Disabled” from the drop-down menu.

4. To make the changes take effect, you need to relaunch the browser. So, save any unsaved work and relaunch the browser by clicking on the “Relaunch” button.

That is it. It is that simple to disable tab hover cards feature in Chrome. If you ever want to enable the feature, go through the process again and either select “Default” or “Enabled” from the drop-down menu.
