If you want to change the icon of a specific folder, it is pretty easy to do on Windows 11 and 10. For example, if you have a dedicated folder for all your movies, using a movie or film-related icon for that specific folder makes it easier to recognize among other folders. Steps to Change Folder Icon Windows 11/10

You can change the folder icon using the folder customization settings on Windows. All you have to do is select your favorite icon and you are good to go.

First and foremost, if you want to use a custom icon, it must be in .ico format. If it’s in a different format, such as .png or .jpg, you’ll need to convert it to .ico before proceeding with the below steps.

Right-click on the folder for which you want to customize the icon.

Choose the Properties option.

In the Properties window, go to the Customize tab. This is where you can customize the folder settings and appearance.

Click the Change Icon button under the Folder Icons section at the bottom.

Click the Browse button.

Find and select the icon and click Open. The icon should be in .ico format.

Click OK in the folder properties window.

That is all. The folder icon is changed and you will instantly see the custom icon in action.
