If your mouse supports the Wake on Mouse feature, moving your mouse or pressing one of its buttons will wake your PC from sleep. While useful for some, this feature can be a huge inconvenience for others. The good news is that you can prevent your mouse from waking your PC by adjusting its power management settings. In this tutorial, we’ll show you how to do that in simple steps. Let’s get started.

Disable Wake on Mouse in Windows 10/11
To stop your mouse from waking your computer, you must disable the Wake on Mouse feature. You can do that from the Power Management tab of your mouse properties. Here’s how.
Press Windows key + X to open the power user menu.
Select Device Manager in the power user menu.
In the Device Manager window, double-click on the Mice and other pointing devices option
Right-click on your mouse and select Properties.
Navigate to the Power Management tab.
Uncheck the Allow this device to wake the computer checkbox.
Click OK.
Close the Device Manager window.
With that, the Wake on Mouse feature is disabled, and moving or pressing the mouse will not wake your computer from now on.
Important Note for Wireless Mouse Users:
If you’re using a wireless mouse with a unifying receiver, such as those from Logitech, or a generic 2.4 GHz receiver, you might have to perform an additional step. These types of receivers can sometimes cause Windows to misidentify your mouse as a keyboard. That means that even after disabling the Wake on Mouse feature, moving or pressing the mouse can wake your computer.
To address this, you have to disable the Wake on Keyboard feature.
Open the Device Manager, double-click on the Keyboards option, right-click on the keyboard, select Properties, go to the Power Management tab, and uncheck the Allow this device to wake the computer option.
