How to Enable or Disable All Chrome Extensions at Once

If you have a lot of Chrome extensions, here’s how you can disable all Chrome extensions at once. Yes, you can bulk disable Chrome extensions.

One of the major advantages of Chrome is the availability of the number of high-quality extensions and the ability to install them with just a single click. In fact, most Chrome users install multiple extensions that serve different needs. For example, I have 17 extensions installed in my main Chrome profile. Put simply, there are a ton of extensions and it is common to install multiple extensions.

Most Chrome extensions don’t cause many problems with day to day usage. However, under certain circumstances like sudden power daily or misconfigured extension, it is highly possible that they might interfere with general Chrome functionality. In those cases, disabling all the extensions at once and enabling them one by one while checking Chrome behavior is an effective troubleshooting method.

So, if you are ever in need to disable all Chrome extensions at once, follow these steps.

Here’re the steps you should follow.

  1. Open the Chrome browser.
  2. Get this extension and click “Add to Chrome” to install it.

  3. Click on the Extension overflow menu (puzzle) icon. The extension is hidden by default in the Extension overflow menu.
  4. Now, click on the “Disable Extensions Temporarily” extension.

  5. Next, type “chrome://extensions” in the address bar and press Enter.
  6. Turn Off the “Disable Extensions Temporarily extension”.

That is all. With the above steps, you are done disabling all the installed extensions in Chrome. As you can see, it is pretty easy to turn off extensions in Chrome.

Note: In case you are wondering why we need to use an extension, it’s because the Chrome browser has no option to bulk disable the extensions.

How to Enable All Chrome Extensions at Once

Just as you can bulk disable, you can also bulk enable Chrome extensions. Here’s how.

  1. Open the Chrome browser.
  2. Make sure you have this extension installed and enabled.
  3. Click on the Extension overflow menu (puzzle) icon.
  4. Now, click on the “Disable Extensions Temporarily” extension icon.

That is all. As soon as you click on the extension, it will enable all the extensions in the Chrome browser.
