If you use multiple profiles in the Edge browser, you can pin your favorite Edge profiles to the taskbar with just a couple of clicks. This allows you to open the profile of your choice with a single click. For example, I have three Edge profiles that I often use — Work, Personal, and Test. To make it easier, I pinned these three Microsoft Edge profiles to the taskbar so that I can directly open the Edge browser with a specific profile. In this article, I will show you how to pin an Edge profile to the taskbar in both Windows 10 and Windows 11. Let’s get started!
Step To Pin an Edge Profile to the Taskbar
- Launch the Microsoft Edge browser.
- Click on the user icon on the top left corner.
- Open your desired profile, if necessary.
- Right-click on the Microsoft Edge icon on the taskbar.
- Select the Pin to Taskbar option.
- With that, your Edge profile is pinned to the taskbar.
Detailed Steps (With Screenshots)
First, launch the Edge browser. To do that, you can search for Microsoft Edge in the Start menu or click on the Edge icon on the taskbar.
Once the Edge browser opens, click on the user icon on the top left corner. Next, select the profile you want to open. This will open the new Edge window with the selected profile.
Note: If needed, you can create a new profile by clicking on the “Set up a new personal profile” option.
Now, right-click on the Microsoft Edge icon (with the new profile) in the taskbar and select the Pin to Taskbar option from the context menu.
That’s it. The Microsoft Edge profile is pinned to the taskbar. From now on, whenever you want to open Edge with that specific profile, simply click on its icon on the taskbar.
Wrapping Up — Pinning Specific Edge Profiles to the Taskbar
As you can see, pinning your favorite Edge profile to the taskbar is easier than you think. In fact, it’s easier than pinning a Chrome profile. If you have more than one Edge profile to pin, follow the same steps for each profile. For each pinned profile, you will see the profile icon overlay on top of the Edge icon on the taskbar. This makes identifying and opening specific profiles easy.
