How To Check Windows 11 Health Using PC Manager

Checking and optimizing your PC’s health keeps it in top condition. Here’s how to check the health of Windows 11 using the Microsoft PC Manager app.

Microsoft PC Manager is the official Windows optimization utility that helps you keep your PC in top condition with just a couple of clicks. Generally, Windows is pretty good at managing itself and being in top condition. However, from time to time, you need to perform certain health checks and make necessary optimizations to improve your PC. For example, checking network settings, uninstalling unnecessary apps, cleaning up usage traces, turning off unnecessary startup items, and deleting temporary files. Thankfully, you don’t have to perform all these PC health checkups manually. You can simply use the Microsoft PC Manager.

Unlike the third-party apps, which often mess with the registry and other important system files, causing unnecessary problems, PC Manager keeps it simple yet effective to boost your PC’s health and performance.

In this quick and easy guide, I will show you how to use the PC Manager utility to check the health of Windows 11 and improve it. Let’s get started.

Before You Start

Check and Improve PC Health Using Microsoft PC Manager

First, open the Start menu by clicking the Start button on the taskbar. Next, search for “PC Manager” and click the top result, or select the “Open” option in the right panel of the Start menu.

open PC Manager from start menu

Once the PC Manager app opens, select the “Home” tab on the sidebar, and then click the “Health Check” option.

Once the scan is complete, it will show the following summary. You can click on each item to see the issues in detail.

  • Space that can be freed up
  • Default settings to restore
  • Usage traces
  • App uninstallation recommendations.
  • Startup apps cleanup.
  • Network status.

Rather than clicking the “Optimize now” button, it is recommended that you check each optimization suggestion and perform it individually. So, scroll through each section, check the details, and click the button in the top-right corner of that section.
