Generally, Outlook application on desktop launches without any problems. However, there might be times when Outlook crashes as soon as you open it. For example, a recent update to Windows 10 caused outlook crash with 0xc0000005 error as soon as it is opened. In other cases, Outlook might not behave as it should. In these kinds of situations, you can open Outlook in Safe mode. When you run Outlook in safe mode, it automatically fixes a lot of issues. How to Open Outlook in Safe Mode From Taskbar

If you’ve pinned Outlook to the taskbar, you can start it in safe mode directly from the taskbar. Here’s how.

  1. Hold down the “Ctrl” key on the keyboard.
  2. While holding down the key, click on the Outlook icon on the taskbar.

  3. You will see a prompt asking if you’d like to start Outlook in safe mode. Click “Yes“.

  4. Now, select the Outlook profile you want to open and click “Ok“.

If you did not create any additional profile, keep the default one as is and press “Ok”. That is all. Outlook will be launched in the safe mode with the profile you choose.

How to Open Outlook in Safe Mode From Start Menu

To run Outlook in safe mode directly from the start menu, follow the steps listed below.

  1. Open the Start menu by pressing the Windows key on the keyboard.
  2. Type “Outlook” in the search bar.
  3. Hold down the “Ctrl” key and click on the “Open” option on the right panel.
