Learn how to turn ON or OFF the Memory Saver feature in Google Chrome that saves your system’s memory by deactivating or putting inactive tabs to sleep.
As most of you know, the more tabs you have open in your Chrome browser, the more memory it consumes. If you’re someone who often opens dozens of tabs, Chrome’s Memory Saver feature can significantly improve your browser and system performance by putting inactive tabs to sleep and freeing up memory. This feature is very similar to Sleeping Tabs feature in Microsoft Edge. When a tab becomes inactive, Chrome automatically frees up the memory it was using. As soon as you click back to a sleeping tab, Chrome will reload it for you.
Of course, if your system has plenty of memory and you don’t want Chrome to deactivate tabs, you can just as easily disable the Memory Saver feature.
