Learn how to trim any video using the built-in Photos app on Windows 11.
It is not often, but there will be times when you need to trim a video’s starting, ending, or both ends. For example, I recently downloaded a video for offline viewing while travelling, but it has a lot of noise at the beginning and end of the video. This increases the size of the video file and makes it hard to watch. So, I trimmed the video.
The good thing is that on Windows 11, you don’t have to use any complicated software to trim a video. You can use the built-in Photos app. It has a dedicated option to trim videos.

The above action opens the video in the Photos app. Click the “Trim” button in the top-left corner as the video plays.

As soon as you click the button, you will see the trim window. Here, use the starting and ending sliders on the playback bar to adjust the trim. For example, to trim the starting part of the video, move the first slider to the right. To trim the end, move the ending slider to the left.

As you use the sliders, you will see a preview. Additionally, you can playback the video by clicking to “Play” button to make sure you’ve trimmed the video as you need.
