How To Show or Hide Workspaces on the Title Bar in Microsoft Edge

Edge Workspaces is an awesome productivity feature. Here’s how to show or hide the Workspaces icon from the title bar in Microsoft Edge.

In the recent version of the Edge browser, Microsoft added a new productivity feature called Workspaces. It lets you organize all your tabs into specific spaces, making them easier to manage. For example, you can create separate workspaces for work and personal use. The best thing is, when you open a workspace, it opens in a completely new window in the same profile. Moreover, you share a workspace so others can see all the tabs in it. By default, the Workspaces feature is enabled, and you see its icon in the top left of the Edge window.

Thankfully, you can easily remove or hide the Workspaces icon on the Edge title bar if you don’t use this feature. Of course, you can just as easily show the Workspaces icon when needed. Method 1: From the title bar

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Search and open the Edge browser.
  3. Right-click the Workspace icon in the top left corner.
  4. Select the “Unpin” option.
  5. With that, the Workspaces icon is hidden/removed from the title bar.

Method 2: From the Settings tab

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Search and open the Edge browser.
  3. Click the “Menu” icon (three horizontal dots) in the top right corner.
  4. Select the “Settings” option.
  5. Go to the “Appearance” tab on the left sidebar.
  6. Click the “Toolbar” option under the “Other appearance settings” section.
  7. Turn OFF the “Workspaces” toggle.
  8. With that, the Workspaces icon is hidden/removed from the title bar.

Show the Workspaces Icon on the Title Bar in the Edge Browser

If you want to use Workspaces, you need to show the Workspaces icon on the title bar. You can do that using the Edge Settings. Here’s how to do it in simple steps.

  1. Open the Start menu.
  2. Search and open the Edge browser.
  3. Click the “Menu” icon (three horizontal dots) in the top right corner.
  4. Select the “Settings” option.
  5. Go to the “Appearance” tab on the left sidebar.
  6. Click the “Toolbar” option under the “Other appearance settings” section.
  7. Turn ON the “Workspaces” toggle.
  8. With that, the Workspaces icon is visible on the title bar.

Using Workspaces in Microsoft Edge

You can start using Workspaces right away. Simply, click the Workspaces icon, click the “New Workspace” dropdown, select “Create blank workspace”, type a name, and click “Done”. The new workspace window will open, where you can open the tabs you want. From now on, you can access this workspace by clicking the “Workspaces” icon.
