Learn how to easily and safely remove the ‘Edit with Clipchamp’ option from the right-click context menu in Windows 11.
Clipchamp is a free web-based video editor by Microsoft. You can think of it as a replacement for the good old Windows Movie Maker. If you’ve installed Clipchamp on your computer, you will see the ‘Edit with Clipchamp’ option in the right-click menu. Selecting this option immediately opens the file in the Clipchamp app, allowing you to start editing it.

While this option is useful, if you don’t use it or want to keep your context menu clutter-free, you can remove the ‘Edit with Clipchamp’ option via the registry editor. For example, since I only use Clipchamp occasionally, I don’t need this option cluttering the context menu. So, I removed it.
In this quick and easy guide, let me show you the steps to remove the ‘Edit with Clipchamp’ option from the context menu in Windows 11. Let’s get started.

Detailed Steps (With Screenshots)
The first thing you should do is open the Registry Editor. We can do that using a run command. Press “Windows key + R” to open the Run dialog, type “regedit“, and click “OK“.

Once it opens, go to the following folder in the Registry Editor. You can copy (Ctrl + C) the path, paste (Ctrl + V) it in the address bar, and press “Enter”. Once you are here, right-click the “Shell Extensions” folder on the left panel and select the “New” and then “Key” option.

This creates an empty folder. Name it “Blocked“.

After creating the “Blocked” folder, right-click it and select “New,” then choose the String Value” option.

The above action creates a blank value on the right panel. Name it as “{8BCF599D-B158-450F-B4C2-430932F2AF2F}“.

That is it. Close the Registry Editor by clicking the “X” icon on the title bar, and then restart your computer. To restart, right-click the “Windows” icon on the taskbar and select “Shut down or sign out > Restart”.
After restarting, you will not see the “Edit with Clipchamp” option in the right-click context menu.
