How To Remove “Ask Copilot” From the Right-Click Menu in Windows 11

Don’t like the new “Ask Copilot” option in the right-click menu? Here’s how you can remove it and clean up the context menu.

Microsoft is constantly and consistently pushing AI (Artificial Intelligence) features to Windows 11. The latest addition is the “Ask Copilot” option, which can be seen when you right-click any file in the File Explorer. Selecting it uploads the file to the Copilot so that it can read and help you understand the contents of the file. For example, if you right-click on an image and select “Ask Copilot”, the selected image is automatically uploaded to Copilot so that you can ask further questions.

While this is a useful feature for those who use Copilot, if you don’t use it, the new option is not that useful. Additionally, it clutters the right-click context menu unnecessarily. Thankfully, you can easily remove the “Ask Copilot” option from the right-click menu in Windows 11 with a simple registry edit. In this guide, I will show you how to do it in simple steps. Let’s get started.
