Before You Start
- Before proceeding, please ensure that Phone Link is connected to your phone. If not, install the Link to Windows app from the Play Store or App Store and sign in with your Microsoft account to connect your mobile phone and computer.
Ring or Play Sound on Mobile Device Using Phone Link
First, open Phone Link. For that, press the Start button, search for “Phone Link“, and click the top result or the “Open” option.
In the Phone Link window, click the “Play Sound” icon button in the top-left corner under your phone name.
Click the “Play Sound” button.
As soon as you do that, your phone should start ringing. It rings for 20 seconds or until you tap “Stop” in the ring notification, whichever comes first.
Important note: By default, Phone Link works when both your computer and phone are on the same local network. If you want this to work via the internet too, click the “Settings” icon in the top-right corner in Phone Link, go to the “Features” tab, and select the “Allow sync over mobile data when I’m not connected to Wi-Fi” checkbox under the “Sync over mobile data” section.
