Before You Start
- You should be using the Pro or Enterprise edition of Windows 11.
Steps to Install Group Policy Templates for Microsoft Edge
First, we need to download the Group Policy Template. To do that, click here to open the official Microsoft download page. Next, click the “Download Windows 64-bit Policy” link.
Important note: If you are using an ARM CPU, click the “Download Windows ARM64 Policy link instead.

The above action downloads a .cab file. Open File Explorer, then find & double-click it to open it directly in File Explorer. Next, double-click the ZIP file inside it to open it in the File Explorer.
After that, copy the “Windows” folder to your Desktop or Downloads folder. Press “Ctrl + C” to copy and “Ctrl + V” to paste.
Now, press the “Windows key + R” to open the Run dialog. In it, type “gpedit.msc” and click “OK” to open the Group Policy Editor.

Right-click the “Administrative Templates” folder under the “Computer Configuration” folder and select the “Add/Remove Templates” option.

Click the “Add” button.

In the “Policy Templates” window, go to the “Windows” folder you copied earlier and navigate to the “adm/en-US” folder, select the “msedge.adm” file, and click “Open“.

With that, you’ve successfully installed the Group Policy templates for Microsoft Edge.

To manage these policies, go to the “Computer Configuration” > “Administrative Templates” > “Classic Administrative Templates (ADM)” > “Microsoft Edge” folder.
