Facebook made it easy to connect with your friends and family and even create new relationships no matter where or who you are. One of the biggest appeals of Facebook is that you can do almost anything. i.e, you can message your contacts, add photos & videos, create groups, add interests, find like-minded people, etc.
Considering the popularity and how easy it is to use Facebook, over the years, you might’ve uploaded a lot of stuff and added a lot of personal details to your Facebook profile. To put it simply, Facebook knows a lot about you thanks to the personal data you shared. The more avid Facebook user you are, the more data Facebook has on you.
To find out what kind of data you have uploaded to Facebook over the years, you can download all your personal Facebook information. All this data is given to you in a simple HTML format so that it is easy to browse through. This is a much better option than manually going through your Facebook timeline. One of the best things about downloading your personal data from Facebook is that depending on how active you in Facebook, you will be shocked by some of the things you’ve said, done, and uploaded to Facebook.

Download your Facebook information
All your Facebook data can be downloaded from the Facebook Settings page. Follow the steps below to download your Facebook information.
- Open the Facebook website.
- Log into your account.
- Click on the Account (▼) icon on the top right corner.
- Select the “Settings & Privacy” option.
- Click on “Settings.”
- Select the “Your Facebook Information” option on the sidebar.
- Click on “Download your information.”
- Select the “Request a copy” tab.
- Choose the options as follows.
- Date range: All of my data
- Format: HTML
- Media quality: High
- Click on the “Create file” button.
- Wait for the file to be created.
- After the file is created, go to the “Available copies” tab.
- Click the “Download” button.
- Your Facebook information will be downloaded in ZIP format.
- With that, you have downloaded your Facebook information.
First, open the browser of your choice, go to the Facebook website, and log in if necessary. Once logged in, click on the “Account” (▼) icon at the top right corner. Next, select the “Settings & Privacy” option.
Next, select the “Settings” option. This will take you to the Facebook settings page. This is where you will find all the Facebook configuration options.
In the Settings page, click on the “Your Facebook Information” option on the sidebar. Next click on “Download your information.”
Now, click on the “Request copy” tab. After that, set the Date Range to “All of my data,” Format to “HTML,” and Media Quality to “High.” Click on the “Create file” button.
As soon as you click the button, Facebook will start the file creation process. Depending on how much data you’ve uploaded to Facebook, it can take sometime to complete the process. In general, it should be completed in 24 hrs. Once completed, you will get a notification email from Facebook.
Once the data copy is readied, go to the “Available copies” tab and click the “Download” button. This action will download your Facebook information.
After downloading, extract the zip file to a folder and double-click on the ‘index.html’ file. This will open the entire document in your default web browser. From there, you can navigate to various sections to analyze the data you got from Facebook.
