How to Download Your Full Facebook Information (guide)

Download your Facebook information

All your Facebook data can be downloaded from the Facebook Settings page. Follow the steps below to download your Facebook information.

  1. Open the Facebook website.
  2. Log into your account.
  3. Click on the Account (▼) icon on the top right corner.
  4. Select the “Settings & Privacy” option.
  5. Click on “Settings.”
  6. Select the “Your Facebook Information” option on the sidebar.
  7. Click on “Download your information.”
  8. Select the “Request a copy” tab.
  9. Choose the options as follows.
    • Date range: All of my data
    • Format: HTML
    • Media quality: High
  10. Click on the “Create file” button.
  11. Wait for the file to be created.
  12. After the file is created, go to the “Available copies” tab.
  13. Click the “Download” button.
  14. Your Facebook information will be downloaded in ZIP format.
  15. With that, you have downloaded your Facebook information.

First, open the browser of your choice, go to the Facebook website, and log in if necessary. Once logged in, click on the “Account” (▼) icon at the top right corner. Next, select the “Settings & Privacy” option.

Next, select the “Settings” option. This will take you to the Facebook settings page. This is where you will find all the Facebook configuration options.

In the Settings page, click on the “Your Facebook Information” option on the sidebar. Next click on “Download your information.”

Now, click on the “Request copy” tab. After that, set the Date Range to “All of my data,” Format to “HTML,” and Media Quality to “High.” Click on the “Create file” button.

As soon as you click the button, Facebook will start the file creation process. Depending on how much data you’ve uploaded to Facebook, it can take sometime to complete the process. In general, it should be completed in 24 hrs. Once completed, you will get a notification email from Facebook.

Once the data copy is readied, go to the “Available copies” tab and click the “Download” button. This action will download your Facebook information.

After downloading, extract the zip file to a folder and double-click on the ‘index.html’ file. This will open the entire document in your default web browser. From there, you can navigate to various sections to analyze the data you got from Facebook.
