Want to change how fast you can scroll using the touchpad? Here’s how you can change the touchpad scroll speed in Windows 11.
As most of you know already, you can easily change the mouse scroll speed. However, did you know that you can also change the touchpad scroll speed? If you are using a laptop with a precision touchpad, you can now change its scroll speed in the Settings app. For example, by default, the scrolling speed is set to medium speed (level 5). This is generally fine. However, it will take multiple scroll gestures to get to the bottom of a long page. In those cases, you can increase the touchpad scrolling speed. On the other hand, if you think the current scrolling speed is too high, you can just as easily reduce it.
In this quick and easy guide, I will show you how to change the touchpad scrolling speed in simple steps. Let’s get started.
Before You Start
- To change the touchpad (trackpad) scroll speed, you should be using Windows 11 build 26300.8376 or higher.

Detailed Steps (With Screenshots)
As always, you should first open Settings. For that, use the “Windows key + I” shortcut or right-click the Windows icon and select the “Settings” option. Once it opens, click the “Bluetooth & devices” tab on the sidebar.
Next, scroll down the right page and click the “Touchpad” option. This page lets you change and manage your touchpad settings.

Here, click and expand the “Scroll & zoom” section.
Now, you can use the “Scroll speed” slider to adjust the touchpad scrolling speed. For example, to increase the scroll speed, simply move the slider to the right. To reduce, move the slider to the left. You have a total of 10 levels to set your scroll speed.

To restore the default scroll speed, simply set the slider to level 5.
