Detailed Steps (With Screenshots)
First, we must open the Notepad app. To do that, open the Start menu by pressing the Start button on your taskbar, enter “Notepad” in the search bar, and click “Open“.
In the Notepad window, click the “Edit” option on the top bar and select the “Font” option.
The above action opens the “Notepad Settings” page with the “Font” customization panel expanded. Here, select the font family of your choice from the “Family” dropdown menu. For example, I’d like to use the “Cascadia Code” font. So, I selected it from the dropdown menu.
To change the font size in Notepad, use the “Size” dropdown menu. Alternatively, you can also enter the exact font size you want. For example, I changed the font size to 12 (from 11).
Finally, you can customize the default font style. i.e., normal, italic, bold, and bold italic. To do that, use the “Style” dropdown menu. For example, if you want all your notes in Notepad in italics, select “Italics” from the “Style” dropdown menu. In general, keeping the normal font style is recommended for overall readability and compatibility with fonts.
Note: Depending on the selected font family, you might see additional styles such as Light, SemiLight, etc.
That is it. The changes are saved automatically. To go back to the regular Notepad view, click the “Back” button to the left of the title bar. You will see the changes instantly.
