The new Edge browser lets you customize the look and feel with themes. Here is how you can change Microsoft Edge themes in simple steps.
In recent days, Microsoft is rapidly adding new features and improving existing features. That is one of the reasons why we are getting multiple updates every single month. Personally, compared to all other browsers, Microsoft Edge is the only one that is keeping up and sometimes out competing with the Google Chrome browser. This is especially true in terms of performance and battery life.
One of the best things about the Edge browser is the ability to customize it how you want. For example, you can change the new tab page to remove news and interests, use vertical tabs, etc. One such new personalization feature is the ability to customize and change the Microsoft Edge theme.
Previously, you could only switch between light and dark themes. However, with the new update, you can choose between more than ten colorful themes. It reduces the need to install third-party themes if you want a solid color theme. For example, I like to use a cool blueish color theme rather than a full-on dark theme. The new theming options let me do that without using a theme from the Edge or Chrome store. Once you change a theme in the Edge browser, it is applied to the title bar and the vertical tabs section (if enabled).
Without ado, I will show you how to change Edge browser themes in Windows 10.
Note: You should be using Edge v91 or higher. You can check the version from “Menu -> Help and feedback -> About Microsoft Edge.”
Change Microsoft Edge Browser Themes
To change Microsoft Edge themes, follow the below steps.
- Open the Edge browser.
- Click on the Menu (…) icon.
- Click the “Settings” option.
- Select the “Appearance” option on the sidebar.
- Now, select a theme under the “Theme” section.
- The theme is applied instantly.
First, open the Edge browser. You can do that by clicking on the Edge icon on the taskbar or searching for it in the Start menu. After opening the browser, click the Menu icon (three horizontal dots) on the top-right corner and select the “Settings” option.
The above action will open the Edge Settings page. Here, select the “Appearance” option on the sidebar. As the name suggests, this is the page where you will find most of the Microsoft Edge customization and personalization options.
On the main panel, you will see a bunch of themes under the “Theme” section. Select a theme of your choice. As soon as you select the theme, it is applied instantly. You can close the Settings tab.
As I said before, all the current themes are just solid colors. If you are looking for something fancy, click the “Discover more themes” option to go to the Chrome web store and pick the theme of your choice.
That is all. It is that simple to change themes in the Microsoft Edge browser.
I hope that helps.
