On the other hand, if you type a URL in the address bar and press “Enter”, it opens in the current profile. But what if you want to always open a specific site in a specific Edge profile? For example, maybe you want to open websites related to your work always in the work profile and personal sites in the personal profile.

Automatically Open a Specific Site in a Specific Profile in Microsoft Edge
To make Edge automatically open sites in the correct profiles, you need to create a custom site switch for each website. Here’s how to do it.
- Launch the Start menu by pressing the “Windows key”.
- Search for “Microsoft Edge” and click “Open“.
- Click the “Menu” icon (three horizontal dots).
- Select the “Settings” option.
- Go to the “Profiles” tab on the sidebar.
- Click the “Profile preferences” option.
- Click the “Add site” button next to “Custom site switch”.
- Enter the URL in the “Website” field.
- Select “Switch” from the “Action” dropdown menu.
- Select the profile from the “Profile name” field.
- Click “Add“.
- From now on, that specific site will open in the selected profile.

First, open the Microsoft Edge browser. If it is already open, skip this step. To open the browser, launch the Start menu by pressing the “Windows key”, search for “Microsoft Edge”, and click “Open”. After opening it, click the “Menu” icon (three horizontal dots) in the top-right corner and select the “Settings” option.
In the Settings tab, go to the “Profiles” tab. On the right panel, click the “Profile preferences” option.
On this page, click the “Add site” button next to the “Custom site switch” option.
Now, enter the following details in the “Add site” dialog and click “Add“.
- Website: Enter the URL of the website you want to open in the separate profile.
- Action: Select “Switch” from the dropdown menu.
- Profile name: Select the profile in which you want to open this specific site.
