Scan and Remove Lumma Malware from Windows

To effectively scan for and remove the Lumma malware (and other potential infections) from your Windows system, you can use the built-in Windows Security or a third-party anti-virus software such as Malwarebytes. It’s highly recommended to use both methods to make sure your system is clean.

Using Windows Security (Windows Defender)

1. Press the “Windows key” to open the Start menu.
2. Search for “Windows Security” and click “Open“.
3. Click the “Virus & threat protection” option.
4. Click “Scan options“.
5. Select “Full scan” and click “Scan now“.
   
6. Wait and let the scan run.
7. Once the scan is done, Windows Security will display all the threats, including Lumma malware, it found.
8. Click the “Start actions” button to quarantine the threat.
   
9. Close the Windows Security app.

3. Once the app opens, click the “Scanner” option.
4. Click the “Advanced scans” option.
5. Click the “Configure the scan” option.
6. Select all the scan options on the left panel and drives in the right panel.
   
7. Click the “Start Custom Scan” button.
8. Let the scan complete.
9. Once done, Malwarebytes will display the threats it found, including the Lumma malware.
10. Select all the checkboxes in the scan results page.
11. Click the “Quarantine” button.
