Learn how to exclude a specific IP address or website in Cloudflare WARP to bypass the WARP tunnel and connect directly using your regular internet connection.
Cloudflare WARP automatically encrypts your internet connection to protect your data & privacy and routes traffic through the Cloudflare network for potential increased speed and reliability. While this is a good thing, there might be times when you need to exclude an IP address or website from using Cloudflare WARP and access the internet directly.
For example, maybe an app or website requires access from your real IP for authentication purposes, an IP/website is actively blocking connections from the Cloudflare WARP network, or you need to connect to your office VPN.
The Cloudflare WARP app for Windows allows you to exclude specific IP addresses or websites. This allows them to bypass the WARP network and connect directly using your regular internet connection. In this quick and straightforward guide, I will show you how to set up exclusions in Cloudflare WARP in simple steps. Let’s get started.
Steps to Exclude IPs/Websites in Cloudflare WARP
- Click the Cloudflare WARP app icon on the taskbar.
- Click the “Settings” icon in the bottom right corner.
- Select “Preferences“.
- Go to the “Advanced” tab on the sidebar.
- Click the “Exclude Split Tunnels” button.
- Click the “Add” button at the bottom.
- Select “IP/prefix” or “Domain” from the dropdown menu to exclude an IP address or website, respectively.
- Type the IP address or website address (domain) in the first field.
- (Optional) Type a description and click “OK“.
- With that, you’ve excluded an IP address or website (domain) in Cloudflare WARP.
Detailed Steps (With Screenshots)
First, you need to open the Cloudflare WARP settings. To do that, click the Cloudflare WARP icon on the taskbar’s system tray, click the “Settings” (looks like a gear/cog) icon, and then select the “Preferences” option.
Note 1: If you don’t see the icon, it might be hidden in the overflow area. Click the UP arrow icon (^) to display hidden icons.
Note 2: If the icon is still not there, the Cloudflare WARP application may not be running. Open the Start menu, search for “Cloudflare WARP,” and click on it to launch the app.

In the Settings window, go to the “Advanced” tab on the left sidebar and then click the “Exclude Split Tunnels” button on the right panel.

In the Split Tunnels window, click the “Add” (+) button at the bottom.

To exclude an IP address, select “IP/prefix” from the dropdown menu. To exclude a website, select “Domain” from the dropdown menu.
Next, type the IP address or website address (domain name) in the first blank field. Optionally, enter a description in the second field. Click the “OK” button to save the change.

With that, the IP/domain is added to the exclude list.

Close the Cloudflare WARP window, and you are done. You’ve excluded the IP address or website from using the WARP tunnel, and it will connect to the internet directly from now on. If you have more than one IP/website to exclude, follow the same steps for each.
To remove an IP/website from the exclude list, select it in the “Split Tunnel” list and click the “Remove” (–) button at the bottom.
