After a week’s break, Microsoft released a new mandatory cumulative update for Windows 11 versions 22H2 and 21H2. These new cumulative updates, KB5022845 & KB5022836, are security updates. That being said, unlike the previous security updates, these updates fix many small and miscellaneous security issues.
Along with security fixes, this update also includes a lot of non-security fixes and improvements. However, the main focus of this update is fixing security bugs.
As for the non-security fixes, this update aims to fix an issue with the taskbar search bar, game controllers, Start menu, File Explorer, and more. Do keep in mind that if you’ve already installed previous cumulative and optional updates, these general bug fixes might not be applicable to you because they are already fixed.
As always, I’m providing the download links to KB5022845 & KB5022836 offline installers so that you can install the update on an offline device or if Windows Update is causing problems. Of course, you can try and install the update from Windows Settings app. Just open the Settings app with the Windows key + I keyboard shortcut, go to the “Windows Update” page, and click the “Check for Updates” button.
