How to Disable “Let’s finish setting up your device” Setup Screen

You can get rid of or altogether disable the “Let’s finish setting up your device” setup screen in Windows 10 and 11. Here is how to do it.

Unlike the older versions, Windows 10’s and Windows 11’s initial setup is not streamlined or intuitive. It mainly forces you to choose between a local account and an online account, go through a bunch of privacy options and unnecessary features, etc. Something like configuring the privacy options is essential, but it doesn’t take away from the fact that the overall initial setup experience is not as good as it used to be.

Even after the initial setup, if Windows 10 or Windows 11 thinks you need to configure additional options, it will show the “Let’s finish setting up your device” setup screen from time to time. This is especially true if you have done an in-place upgrade. The problem with this screen is that almost all the recommended features and options are not integral to your overall experience. For example, you don’t have to use OneDrive or subscribe to Office 365 to get the most out of Windows 10 or 11.

Add to that; if you don’t want to set up these features, there is no easy way to dismiss the “Let’s finish setting up your device” screen from the notification itself. All you get is the “Remind me later” option. As you can guess, if you click the remind me later link, the setup screen will pop up again after some time. Put simply, the “Let’s finish setting up your device” screen can be distracting at times.

In this quick and straightforward guide, let me show you the steps to disable the “Let’s finish setting up your device” setup screen so that Windows 10 and 11 will no longer bother you with impromptu setup screens.
