This tutorial shows you the simple steps to quickly change the scroll speed in Windows 11.
By default, the scroll speed in Windows 11 is set to 3 lines at a time. That means, whenever you use the mouse wheel to scroll up or down, the screen will scroll three lines in that direction. While it works fine in most cases, depending on your screen size, mouse, and other things, the scroll speed can be too slow or speed. Or, maybe you want to increase or decrease the scroll speed for your specific use case. Whatever your specific reason is, Windows 11 lets you change the scroll speed using the Settings app. In this tutorial, I will show you how to do it in simple steps. Let’s get started.
Change Scroll Speed in Windows 11
- Open Settings using “Windows key + I”.
- Go to the “Bluetooth & devices” tab on the sidebar.
- Click the “Mouse” option.
- Use the “Lines to scroll at a time” slider to change the scroll speed.
- Close the Settings app.
- With that, you’ve changed the scroll speed in Windows 11.
Detailed Steps (With Screenshots)
As always, the first thing you should do is open the Settings app. You can do that by pressing the “Windows key + I” shortcut or by searching for “Settings” in the Start menu.
Once the Settings window opens, click the “Bluetooth & devices” tab from the left sidebar and then click the “Mouse” option on the right panel.

On this page, scroll down to the “Scrolling” section and use the “Lines to scroll at a time” slider to change the scroll speed. For instance, to increase the scroll speed, move the slider to the right. To decrease, move the slider to the left.

Make sure to test the scroll speed after changing it to fine-tune the speed to your liking. Also, keep in mind that if you increase the scroll speed too much, your scrolling experience might be choppy and not good at all. So, be sure to try out different levels and see what fits your use case.
