Don’t like the default Bing search in the Edge Browser? You can change it. Here is how to change the default search engine in Edge.
Unlike the old Edge, the current Edge browser is based on the Chromium project. As a result, Microsoft Edge is highly customizable, fast, neat, and snappy. In fact, you can install chrome extensions in the edge browser. Because it is a Microsoft browser, it comes with Bing as the default search engine. Bing, contrary to popular belief, is not a bad search engine. In fact, it can occasionally outperform Google Search. However, in terms of reliable and accurate search results, it lags behind Google.
So it’s no surprise that most prefer Google over Bing as their preferred search engine. If this is the case, you can change Microsoft Edge’s default search engine.
If you’re curious, it only takes a few clicks to get started. Let me show you how to change the default search engine in Microsoft Edge.

Steps with more details:
First, open the Edge browser. You can click the pinned Edge icon on the taskbar or search for “Microsoft Edge” in the Start menu.
After launching the Edge browser, click the “Menu” button in the upper right corner and select “Settings.” This action takes you to the Edge settings page.
On the settings page, select the “Privacy, search, and services” option on the left panel. Scroll down on the right panel and click the “Address bar and search” option.
Choose “Google” from the “Search engine used in the address bar” dropdown menu. Next, select “Address bar” from the “Search on new tabs uses search box or address bar” menu. It makes it so that whenever you search via the new tab search bar, it automatically uses the address bar. That way, your search experience will be consistent.
