Learn how to use the Settings app to quickly and easily add or remove the “Send to” option in the context menu in Windows 11.
Quick steps: Open Settings, go to “Personalization” > “Context menu“, and turn ON or OFF the “Send to” toggle.
One of the most useful options of the right-click context menu is the ‘Send to’ menu item. When you select it, it shows a submenu with multiple apps and actions. For example, you can use it to create a shortcut on the desktop, create zip files, send files via Bluetooth, etc. In my case, I use this option regularly to compress images (Send to > FileOptimizer).
While this is a useful option, if you don’t use it, it is better to remove the ‘Send to’ option and reduce the overall clutter in your right-click context menu. It is a pretty simple process thanks to the new context menu options in the Settings. Of course, when you need it, you can just as easily add the ‘Send to’ option in the context menu. Let me show you how.

Add or Remove “Send to” Option in Context Menu Using Settings
The first thing you should do is press “Windows key + I” to launch the Settings app. You can also click the “Settings” (gear) icon on the Taskbar if it is pinned. Once Settings opens, click “Personalization” in the sidebar, and then click the “Context menu” option on the right page (you might have to scroll down a bit in the Settings app to see this option).
Now, turn ON the “Send to” toggle to add or show the “Send to” option on the right-click context menu. To hide or remove the “Send to” option, turn OFF the “Send to” toggle.
That’s it. Close the Settings app. Depending on how you configured the toggle, the “Send to” option will either appear or not when you right-click on a file or folder in File Explorer or on the Desktop. If you don’t see the change, restart your computer to fully apply the changes.
