3 Ways To Go To Desktop On Windows 11

Learn the easiest ways to go to your desktop without manually minimizing each window individually.

Generally, most of us Windows users manually minimize open windows whenever we want to access the desktop. Since it is very common, especially on smaller screens, to have one or more apps in fully maximized view and even more in minimized windowed mode, it takes multiple clicks just a get to the desktop. The good thing is, if you want, you can make accessing the desktop easy with 3 built-in methods in Windows 10.

In this quick and straightforward guide, I will show three methods to go to the desktop in Windows 11 easily. Let’s get started.

Press “Windows key + D” to go to the desktop

The easiest and simplest way to go to the desktop on Windows 11 is to use a keyboard shortcut. No matter what you are doing on the screen, press “Windows key + D” to instantly get to your desktop.

Use the Taskbar’s ‘Show Desktop’ button

If you would like to use the mouse instead of a keyboard shortcut, you can click the “Show Desktop” button. On your taskbar, move your mouse pointer to right rightmost corner to activate a hidden button, click on it, and all the open windows minimize to show the desktop.

Note: If the “Show Desktop” button is not available, follow these steps to add it to the taskbar: right-click on the taskbar, select “Taskbar Settings”, click on “Taskbar behaviors”, and select the “Select the far corner of the taskbar to show the desktop” checkbox.
